My fyp is full of so many Somali grads! It’s so nice to see them celebrating. I’m going to post more positive threads from now because I see so many Somalis with really cool and interesting lives on my fyp. Like a diff user said, it’s not all doom and gloom

I get it. They’re def educated, they just stick to posting ig stories or simple grad posts. They don’t do vids like the girls and celebrate in their own way but if you were to check the commencement programs you would see many male Somali names there so people who think they aren’t educated are just ignorant

I wish these beautiful somali girls statw theyre Somali, especially because of the hate we need to make it loud and clear we are Somali or people will just assume they're habesha. That's what they do when a succesful somali post and get all shady when some.mention they're somali. I even seen cadaans get confident ufff

Most of them tagged their videos somalitiktok but I understand what you mean. Ethios are doing this rn under the tt version of the video posted in this thread: https://www.somalispot.com/threads/positive-pr.179530/ but they’re being called out & ratioed

I noticed american somalis are more comfortable in claiming they're somali I think is because most live amongst each other e.g Minnesota wheras in the UK from what I noticed aren't confident in being somali especially younger generation. Which is understandable due to the racism we face here by ajanabis. Who's being ratioed??? I.honstly think we are going to lose many young somalis in claiming somali due to the hate, I pray im wrong but from what I heard.....

You’re definitely wrong, no offense. I follow pretty girls from the uk too and they tag their videos with somalitiktok too. If anything, I think the average Somali is becoming more rude tbh. Whenever people comment “are you X ethnicity” (not Somali obviously) or something shady, their replies back are very rude. Ethiopians lying and saying the girl is an Ethiopian muslim are being ratioed by Somalis. The entire comment section on tt is very positive

Don’t think about it too much. Most Somalis aren’t thinking about people hating them like I’ll read threads on here and then go to tt and they’re all lipsyncing to a new song or posting about getting matcha or going to japan/korea lol. They don’t care and you shouldn’t either <3 We’ll always be okay
