It kinda isn’t. In their pursuit of exclusivity, they’re out here erasing people’s history and culture. Imagine being Norwegian, trying to generate images of Vikings for whatever reason, homework? Presentation? And you end up with an image of an African warrior with Viking tatts who clearly belongs in an image representing a Zulu warrior king or a Mali warrior. What on earth is that nonsense?
Sorry, but I like accuracy. I don’t mind Bridgerton as it’s just a show based on a fictional book and the show has altered reality with a backstory as to why it’s a mixed cast. It works, but if I’m watching a show about Vikings and it’s loosely based on real events or a real character, I want to see white people on my screen playing Scandis. There are historically plausible ways to include people of color but writers and creatives are far too lazy. Poorly programmed AI software generating random faces of humans onto Vikings isn't wokeness. There was likely examples of this being down to other cultures before google bend the knee to triggered neo nazis on twitters. Everyone at Silicon Valley are racing to be the best in AI generation software with some, like the idiots at Google, not perfecting their technology before releasing it to the public which as of late has been a common trend for this company.
True, which Is why I made a point about how if I was to try and generate an image of Historical Somalis, a random Genghis look alike or an Indian man might up come up. I’m fully aware that it’s an issue with the software, but as of late especially when it comes to TV shows you do have a lot of white producers who are too lazy to showcase POC cultures with interesting storylines and now they’re depicting real events or historical events involving real Europeans as black like the case of Anne Boleyn. It’s like they have a checklist ‘is there are POC’? Without any regard of it making sense. It’s disrespectful even towards us, since they don’t care about non-whites but want to showcase the appearence of progressiveness. Why can’t we have a story of an African queen or a plausible depiction of POCs in Europe like the Moors visiting the court of Elizabeth the 1st or other well recorded cases of black people in London? Hence, if this was PC stupidity I wouldn’t even be surprised as that’s the level of laziness we’re seeing.
