Ghastly Failmaajo sinking to new lows?

Shows you what kind of person and leader this fake president when his foreign minister talks to his counterpart from........Syria!

That's right folks, the chief diplomat of an illegal Nusayri minority regime which killed almost a million Syrians.

However can we surprised when Mr McCheese is a fan and distant relative to the late fascist that mass murdered his own citizens

Dude the entire Arab world is lining up to be friends with Syria again.

Plus the Assad regimes have always treated Somalis with respect.

Guys it's absolute the wrong thing to do. Former HSM took a principled stance in denouncing Butcher Al Assad

That was when Assad was a whisker away from getting the Saddam and Ghaddafi treatment.

Now Jordan and UAE are openly having talks with Assad with the blessing of their allies.

Furthermore, if you talk to many Sunni Syrians (one of my best friends is one), they’ll happily tell you that Assad is fucked but that the bigger problem are people like the Makhloufs and the military establishment. Anyone that replaces him will be infinitely worse unless they have democratic elections.

Furthermore, I don’t see how Farmaajo has anything to do with this.

1. He isn’t responsible for who the Foreign Affairs minister speaks to, especially when he’s the caretaker president.

2. Qatar and Turkey are openly anti-Assad.

The main pro-Assad nation in the MENA atm is UAE, which Rooble just visited.

If you’re going to be accurate, change the name from Farmaajo to Rooble.

Assad and Syrians treated Somalis with upmost respect, when Somalia was in disarray and everybody was leaving. And quite frankly, whats wrong with having relations with a brotherly nation?

The problem is Assad is a dictator who destroyed entire cities just to stay in power.

Indeed, which is a pity. But we ain't in no position to interfere in internal affairs, and secondly, we cannot deny what gratitude we received.

Did i imply we should send the SNA to back-up the rebels in Idlib? Why should i show gratitude to the Assad regime for helping our refugees when he caused the greatest refugee crisis in the world?

I'll tell this do you think Somalis would accept a Borana Qadiani family rulling Somalia for more than half a decade?

Your looking at it from a moral prospective, which indeed your correct. But politically/diplomatically, is it wrong having relations with Syria, whoever may be in charge?

In regards to OP, How is it "low" for the Foreign Minister to have talks with a nation we have diplomatic ties with and not renounced, thats the point.

Also, Somalis would not accept, but the world won't bat an eyelid, it would be business as usual. It would be treated as an internal problem for the people to solve.

On a purely diplomatic standpoint it isn't wrong, but your question was:
whats wrong with having relations with a brotherly nation?
i just gave reason why it would be "wrong" to have relation with Assad regime.

in the end of the day this decision is neither good or bad, because Assad won and the syrian people lost.

Sunni Syrians have failed to unify their ranks. They were also used by Gulf Arab countries and their Western backers to start the insurrection in Syria. The intention was to destroy Syria, make sure there is no unified opposition that can take over the country, and bleed the country to its knees. This was all part of Greater Israel Project. Russians intervened and put an end to it.

The so-called groups in Idlib are no different than Al-Shabaab.

True only Shias support them because of politics.
it's sad how Assad and Isis/al qaeda have made Syrian blood cheap.

Not true, vast majority of Assadists are Sunni.

One of my best friends is Syrian Sunni from Aleppo, he supports Assad. Primary reason being, that there’s no one better.
