getting Old(er)

I think I get it these are like SATs right but why tf are yall taking those at 20yrs old dats mad embarassing
They aren't SATs, and you didn't know what A levels were until a second ago. Relax and look into things before jumping to lazy and inconsiderate conclusions.

People of all ages can resit the exams for a variety of reasons.

Step-by-Step Breakdown
1. Understand the Prefix “re-”

  • Both “resit” and “redo” start with the prefix “re-”
  • Even at a basic level, English learners often recognize that “re-” means “again”

So:
  • “resit” = re + sit
  • “redo” = re + do

The learner knows:
“Oh, re- means I’m doing something again.”

2.
Understand the Root Words

“Sit” in “resit”
  • “Sit” is commonly used for sitting down, but in academic or exam contexts, many learners learn that “sit an exam” means “take an exam.”
So, “resit” = “take the exam again.”

“Do” in “redo”
  • “Do” is a very basic verb — usually learned early.
  • It means to perform or complete a task or action.
So, “redo” = “do the task again.”

3.
Comparing Contexts

  • If a learner sees these words in context:
    • “I have to resit the math test.”
    • “I have to redo the math test.”

Both suggest:
“I must take it again because I failed or missed it.”

Conclusion for Basic Learners

By splitting the words into two parts:
  • re + sit = take again
  • re + do = do again

They can conclude that “resit” and “redo” both mean repeating something, and in exam or school settings, they are often used interchangeably — even if “resit” is more British and “redo” is more general or American.

Who asked u faggy fag nerd

Revision is going Absolutely horrid! Im either doing chemistry or chem eng (i firmed and insured both and Im not sure what to do). Resitting is so so so lonely oh my days this gap year felt agesssss. Im just happy its nearly over!

NO SIS YOUUU will be the best in whatever you do. You can always do engineering even without maths if its your passion, ill dm you!

i was revising all day biology is going to kill me awfff in 10 days. Im so mad i left exam prep till the last second and prioritised finishing content :(

Abayo I'm still learning content. It's going to take a miracle at this point. I'm going to try finish in the next 3 days so I have at least a week and all the gap days to do past papers. I'll check dms, thanks.

I've been using this video
it's useful to consolidate knowledge. She explains things well.

Wallahi u British niggas are speaking gibberish to me niggas are talking about A levels and resitting wtf does dis shyt mean did u get up from your seat and sit back down? Is A levels mean you have to get an A on ur test or you fail?
A Levels are exams you take at the end of school (age 18) and use to apply to university. To resit means to take them again in order to get a better grade and go to a better university.

keep smoking dick retard
What's ur problem man u brits are condescending assholes god forbid someone says redo instead of resit now we got yusuf here writing 12 paragraphs on why resit is proper terminology and the rest of us that say redo are simple mouthbreathers.

The Nur guy explained it in simpler terms and without acting like she's better than me for using different words be more like her man.
