Doubt Germany would ever be a reliable backer as Somalia wouldn't have any leverage over Deutschland. I noticed they don't care too much about diplomacy outside of their 10 trillion dollar GDP fiefdom in Europe.
The problem with Germany is the clash they have with Turkey (economics), Istanbul is building another airport which will challenge Frankfurt as the international hub, they already lost billions hence their vicious warfare via Gullen/PKK and YPG on Turkey, they are also late comers following Turkey into Somalia.
That 10 trillion dollar is looking more and more shaky, just as their alliance with America/NATO, I simply don't trust the Germans as major allies unless we use them to pit them against the British, bringing them closer will alienate a far better trusted ally with a proven historical as well as current track record.
The feeding frenzy has started and the poison chalice need to be readied, a greater opportunity than this will not come, if we fail now, it's game-over as a people/nation and country.
Which proven ally? If it was the old Turkey then I would agree but Erdogan is running a one man show at the moment and will probably make deals to keep his position... including selling Somalia out if needed.
Really wish we could develop Somalia's resources ourselves like the Europeans and Americans did... a 150 years ago....

I have no issues if you oppose the government on legit grounds, I don't think they are dealing with this particular issue effectively, there are easier ways to sweep criminals like this mafia dude without giving him a propaganda ammo or an opportunity to use the clan card which all these criminals do.
It's a lack of strategy on the government part, most of them are clueless, they don't even have a media arm to fight back against these vicious propaganda's coming from all corners.

Nah. Dude's a dictator. Nothing wrong with them since we had them since humans existed. Although he might be able to protect Turkey from external influences now that he consolidated all the power... he's still human and I hope the power doesn't corrupt him and in turn pushes him into a corner where he has to make sacrifices (like Somalia for example).
