Abu Dhabi has basically been like this for over a year now. Can't go anywhere like supermarkets, malls, cafes, restaurants, public gyms or basically anywhere without having been PCR tested before the vaccine was a thing. I think the test was valid for 3 days before the vaccine and now it's valid for 30 days after being vaccinated. And of course most employers, schools and Unis demand it and now they've introduced fines for the unvaccinated. But this is a monarchical country. Didn't think the west would slowly begin taking notes.

The DSA metro area hasn't been as stringent at all. All we've had to contend with since the short lockdowns around March to June last year has been mask wearing in public with fines if you don't wear one. Though they have also introduced fines for being unvaccinated now and you can't enter government buildings without having been vaccinated which is what ultimately prompted me to get the jab. Like in AD employers, schools and Unis also tend to require being vaccinated.
