Apparently this Somali guy who translates for the German gov claims that they refuse Somali men refugee status but grant Somali women refugee status easily. I guess they want the Somali women to mix with the German men to lower the Somali population. @Apollo is this a possible scenario?

Syria was a fairly developed country, most Syrians were educated and had skills before immigrating. Whereas most Somalian refugees are barely educated and don't have skills to add to the economy.
