Gen Z and beyond are more computer illiterate than old folks

Has anyone else noticed how computer illiterate Gen Z and beyond are. The rise of Apps and how simple they are beyond pressing buttons has meant that the art of using a computer is genuinely lost to this generation. I mean simple things like how to use google to search for things feels like navigating the seven seas to these Gen Z. I blame how easy smartphones are to use.

I always thought it was Gen Z that was the most computer literate since we grew up with them

you're right. Besides the"on" button, keyboard, and basic function buttons, I don't know shit. My literacy for tech is through the ground. If something goes wrong, I scream for help :mjcry::damn:

Nah I feel like it's a misconception. Being able to use a phone and apps designed to be as simple as possible because of their UI doesn't make them computer illiterate. Ask them to solve a problem with the help of a computer and watch them struggle.
why are you exposing me!!!

Maybe Gen Alpha, since they grew up with apps that made things easy to use. it was only late 2000s/early 2010s that these kind of devices came out

my mother gets confused as to why I'm so illiterate when I grew up with tech:mjlol: I mean only know how to press buttons on screen. When ever she got a tech issue, she say "you guys grew up with this, come fix it" I just sit there clueless :damn:

My nephew only know how to login accounts, use chrome and open Minecraft on my pc. Anything beyond that. I became a IT technician. To his peer in his school. His a computer genius

My digital natives nephew's and nieces where supposed to be experts compared to me. Only my nephew shows an interest on my pc or laptop

Do so much for digital natives lol
