NEWS Garacad Port receives a second container shipment

The Captain who delivered the shipment is Somali, probably Reer Puntite also.

The Port is still in progress, but it's open for business. Allah SWT baa mahad leh, Masha'Allah na dhaha oo isha naga duwa.

They came up with 300 million dollars to build a port in a country full of ports. That 300 million dollars I think half of that money should have been used to establish a company in partnership with an oil company (preferably ExxonMobil) the other half should've gone towards lobbying in Washington DC for more corporate welfare (ExxonMobil already receives 4 billion dollars a year in subsidies) for that newly emerging oil company. This could be achieved by simply paying out campaign contributions for as little as 50k dollars.

A port is essential for both onshore and offshore oil exploration. As a matter of fact, it is extremely difficult to explore for oil onshore and offshore without port infrastructure. The cost per test well when you have a port vs when you don't is huge.

Puntland only had one port before this. I think we need another 2; along with more highway.
