Galmudug state inks Hobyo port construction deal with Somali+British+Turkish companies joint cooperation

Galmudug State has signed an agreement with Oriental Company, a consortium of three Turkish, British and Somali companies for the construction of Hobyo Port.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Galmudug by the Minister of Ports and Fisheries, Abdisabir Nur Shurie, while Oriental was represented by Crom LTD, Hobyo Investment LTD, Indian Ocean Holding LTD. The signing ceremony was also attended by Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW), a UK marine law firm advising on Galmudug State Legislation.

London-based Oriental reached the agreement with the Galmudug Ministry of Ports and Fisheries after a series of meetings in recent months with a delegation led by the Minister Nur Shurie,” a statement from the ministry of Ports read in part.

It's a joint cooperation between Somali, British and Turkish companies incharge of building and running the port.

It's important Somalis share part of the construction and running of the port for skill/knowledge transfer.

Minister Abdisabir Nur Shurie praised the agreement and said that by the end of this month the first survey team will arrive in the country to assess the various approaches to the construction and operation of the port, technology, environmental & environmental and overall planning. “The second phase of construction will begin in March 2021,” he said. “It is a fact that the construction of Hobyo Port will bring about significant socio-economic changes in the lives of millions of people in Galmudug and neighboring states,” the minister added.

The only real company involved is Crom Ltd and they're a window cleaning company with only one employee.

With the desertification in Hobyo, this guy will definitely have his work cut out for him cleaning the sand off those windows.

the company which is taking part in this venture is called 'CROM HOLDINGS LIMITED' not 'CROM LTD'

one of the companies involved in the venture 'INDIAN OCEAN HOLDINGS' is a new company

as for the consortium 'ORIENTAL TERMINALS', obviously this is a new company as it is the result of all 3 companies reaching a deal together

only once all 3 sides had come to an agreement was this company founded

They looked at that hobyo biij and walked away and these guys will also. In-fact I think it's a political stunt 'igu sawir' shit like the last one. Let them show u 'receipts' of the funds in a bank account first before u jump to conclusions again. GM will never have a port, each leader promises one so he can keep them busy with 'deked baan helayna' similar to the 'Somaliland aqoonsi baan helayna'. That was registered in January 2020 I always knew Qatar was fake I said it in my old posts there's two possibilities in my head either they are setting up a offshore company to funnel money there from different activities (if it is raised privately) or it's a exit scam.

HG scamming their own port will be no surprise to anyone. If they have have a huge sahara desert in Hobyo (due to their own neglect), this port will be a massive money pit.

If they were smart, they'd find a better location.. but hey.. this is the same tribe that fought alongside the Italians to remove the MJ conquerer of Hobyo. They will cut off their nose to spite their face.

LOL - Hobyo may have been an abandoned cape surrounded by sand dunes by the time you first discovered it, but there were older quarters the Chinese even acknowledge and proposed to ship OIL
