GM as far as I am concerned isn't achievable not because of the off the road 'clans' who live there, their not really a factor and 'gain' by a govt, it's the clans on the road from baraxley-dhusomareeb. If PL couldn't unite galkacyo to Bosaso, then it's pointless to talk about off the road regions like garacad, bayla, eyl, qandala.
The road lifeline would be in-accessible due to 'various' militias all collecting a 'extortion' for their portion of the road. I use the word 'extortion' cause it's not collected by a govt nor is it a tax going back to the people nor is it going to service their govt salaries who are supposed to be working for them but currently have no 'methodology' they work under like the rest of the world does. It was a HG inspired warlord 'strategy' they used in Mogadishu during the vacuum in 91-2004, the 'extortion' racket.
Even if Abudwaq 'rejected' it wouldn't really 'cause' a dent to GM as their not on the lifeline or at their future 'hobyo' port. ASWJ have lost power and influence. People don't want them anymore. Leelkase were just in talks with GM to join it. And AS will be finished in the next 4 years who are present in all Somali States.
The next 4 years will be monumental in stabilising it from AS in the Southern districts.
But the main issue is that the state has no revenue collection to sustain itself. It needs to work on that as well.

I think not all regions will benefit from federalism. Galmudug is the perfect example. Federalism in galmudug will create more problems then it solves.
Let them split between PL and their cousins in HS.

You're painting a gloomier picture then what it actually is. GM has been developing rapidly the past decade & less people are tahriibing from the state than ever before.
The HG had a conference that united them & they've choosen a leader. But I agree there needs to be more unity among all the GM clans.
Under Centralism back in the day, GM was badly neglected at least now there are roads, hospitals, clinics, libraries being opened all over.

Problem is there is no community feeling within GM till this day we still fight over water holes in the miyi.
there are no go zones, a camel from cadaado cannot go anywhere near caabudwaaq and vice versa, but that is not the same in jubbaland or even puntland
a camel from baardheera can go to kismaayo without issues and vice versa.

there is a difference between 1 tuulo joining PL and our fortress galgaduud sare. caabudwaak and balanbale are like helmsdeep sxb. And Sade is VP in Galmudug with 2nd most MP seats after HG.
nothing but the presidency of puntland would sway Sade. but i think galmudug will just be like baanaadir and sool.
