According to the report, there is a clear link between the average levels of remittances, and the regions in which they are received. Regions in the north, Puntland, receive on average $254 per month, while regions in the south of the country, excluding the capital city, Mogadishu and the port city of Kismayo, receive $119; a significantly lower monthly total.

As the study explains, there is a strong correlation between generosity and laandheerenimo. This was put on full display for all to see with Puntland's aid efforts in Hirshabelle. Very intriguing stuff.

also this isn’t necessarily a positive thing akh. It could mean the north are more dependent on remittances (however we don’t know if this is actually the case seeing as the highly populated city is excluded).
