Yes 3.5% , my siblings all got different traces too, even at 90% confidence Iranian, peninsular Arab, Pakistani/North Indian, Malayali and broadly European, barely anything changed for my grandmother.
Interesting, I would never have thought you can go from 100% back to 96.5%, you all inherited different traces, maybe there is more then one distant parental line who is heavily mixed which could be the reason for traces not disappearing at 90% confidence level. 23andMe promised parental inheritance features on the chromosome painting, did you see any the promised features?
@NidarNidar @giire12 Do feel this update is better? I've noticed a strong pattern the only 100% scoring Somalis left are from the deep interior
I am assuming its better and more accurate, they said
"Enhanced Accuracy: The accuracy of these new ancestry results are greatly improved by using our
recently published, state-of-the-art DNA phasing method. You could think of phasing as sorting which DNA you inherited from each parent. Reducing errors in phasing means a more accurate estimate of your ancestry percentages and better
DNA Painting "
"Improved algorithm, expanded populations, better results".
"We start by dividing your DNA into short windows, and then we phase it. Phasing is how we determine which parts of your DNA came from each parent. Then, we compare each window to dozens of reference populations, generating likelihood scores that help us assign ancestry and summarize your results.
With this update we've improved our phasing method to reduce errors by 98 percent, boosting the precision of your ancestry assignments. We’ve also upgraded how we assign ancestry across your genome, using the most likely match at each segment instead of requiring a strict likelihood threshold. This means no more vague “broadly” categories, and more specific, detailed results you can trust."
Over the last few months, we’ve been hard at work finalizing a major update to your favorite report: Ancestry Composition.
