Ancient DNA in Nubia during the pre-Islamic Christian period

Apologies in advance if this study has already been posted on this forum.

Wanted to also draw attention to this interesting extract from the study :-

"The comparison of the X chromosome with the autosomes shows that the proportion of West Eurasian ancestry is greater on the X chromosome than on the autosomes, thus suggesting that West Eurasian ancestry came to Kulubnarti more by women than by men. Analysis of the mitochondrial genomes shows that they belong to 11 different haplogroups of West Eurasian origin although they have also been present in North-East Africa for millennia."

As much as there is all this talk about Eurasian males entering the African continent; e.g. Hausa/Fulani ydna R1b v88. There also seems to have also been the same movement of Eurasian females entering the African continent; e.g. Somali mtdna M1, Elmolo mtdna I. Even Fulanis harbour Eurasian mtdna (unfortunately swamped by African mtdna).
