My dad’s grandpa is Somali and his mum is Tuareg. To me, he looks more a Tuareg from Mali or Niger. Me, his siblings and dad look more Cushitic. My mum is maadow

My grandpa was a sweet, proud, honorable man. My grandma was a trifling racist Berberian but I love her still. She had the black hair and pale skin. Both of my grandma’s had a rivalry. Of course, my African family accused my mum and grandma of witchcraft all the time. Lol

A couple of interesting facts about my grandma
1. I was married by 13 years old to a 26 year old man. He was a family friend and came from a wealthy house.
2. She ran away with her sister, who was also in an arranged marriage and their kids up North.
3. My mum is the only child not to be with her marriage, but a free black man ( I believe he was of Gullah of Ghana and Madagascar) . He ( my actual biological maternal grandpa) was a taxi driver/ dishwasher. It didn’t work because the status differences.
4. Her middle name is an really obscure Spanish name. Quenesta? I think. My mum’s loves Spanish names.
