OMG she was nuts. I think she suffered from mental illness. Her over achieving tendencies was covering her mental illness. I think her first relationship caused her intense stress, triggered a mental imbalance. Also as a couple they were mis-matched.

Chris issue was just low self esteem and not being intelligent. He felt he was inadequate. Stupid. Poor internal self esteem.

Shannon paid with her life for poking at a bear.

The scene where Chris and His father sat in the interrogation room, was the most touching emotional scene.-That old man lost 15 years of his life in that room. He reached out to Chris and touched him. So beautiful and moving. He said 'Good God Almighty-son"

Both father and son have the same spirit. Dull spirits, good dumb folk. If Chris met a woman like his mother, he would not be a killer. Instead he met a nutty over achiever named Shannon, God rest her soul and the babies.
