the only thing puntland and jubaland receive and fight for is the money that comes from the international donors such as imf and the world bank,
They think the Federal government is just Mogadishu and the donors' money should belong to Mogadishu, maybe they misread what FGS represents like they did when Yemeni president Ali Saleh said: " انما تعنينا فقط هوية الصومال" and they mistranslate that to "We only want the Hawiyes of Somalia".

revenue from Mogadishu port goes directly to fgs considering banadir isn’t a state. The fgs in turn spends that money on all states. Pl and Jl claim they don’t get the international aid they deserve. They have their own ports and still want revenue from Mogadishu port. Why should they receive port revenue when they already have a port? That money should only go to port less states imo. They mainly moan about not getting the aid money when they actually do

Thing is I would support Banadir taxes going to FGS if the FGS only spent that money on Banadir. So for example only fund the SNA Banadir division. Or the government’s education and healthcare Banadir sector.
But that’s not the case. Personally I don’t even mind Banadir taxes helping out the rest of the country if they started providing taxes too, even if originally it’ll be small given how massive the Muqdisho economy is compared to other states.
So it’s clear Banadir needs to become a state and have it’s own finances under it’s control. Could you imagine in the near future Banadir will be raising a billion a year yet won’t be in control of how to spend that money. For that billion every street in Xamar would be paved in a week. We’d be opening up thousands of hospitals and schools.
Puntland has never asked for revenue from Mogadishu's port/airport or other tax money. This is disinformation. The FGS has never spent money on Puntland, please. In fact, it was Puntland's tax money that built the FGS, some of you need basic Somali history lessons. SMH

That’s what I was thinking. Op is confused. PL hasn’t ever asked for port revenue. Only ask for international aid which they do get btw

The International community sends money to the Federal Government. The Federal Government is supposed to send this money to Federal States. Instead successive Presidents misuse this money. This is the main source of beef between Puntland and the FGS.

Some people equate Federal parliaments' salary to giving Mogadishu taxes to Puntland and other states, also They were giving 150k monthly to HS and Galmudug but then they stopped after the deficit grew.
I've never heard of this. Is there data?

the budget of the federal government is separate to that of puntland and jl , puntland has its own budget and revenue that it collects , the federal budget is only for muqdisho and the other 3 states who have less resources and lack ports galmudug, hirshabelle and konfur galbed, hawiye should stop saying puntland takes canshurta muqdisho
I am baffled at this disinformation. it doesn't even make sense. Why on earth would Puntland ever ask for people's tax money that don't live in their state.
They are confusing the fact that the FGS is located in Mogadishu= Puntland wants Mogadishu's money. NO. Puntland wants the FGS to act like a Federal Government and responsibly hand out international funding and projects.
Somalia is the most corrupt and exhausting country on earth.

Under the current (before the new minister) budgetary support arrangements PL got 9 million and GM/HS/KG/JL got around 6 million in 2020.
Maybe it's all the International Aid money that has been stolen from us being redistributed.

I believe they said it’s because PL has a lot more costs due to civil service, government ministers etc etc. Which is fair.
The only case of outright sabotage of budgets/aid so far have been the education fiasco between FGS and PL
Sharmaajo's government blocked international development project, such as a fishing port in Eyl and other projects. It hasn't just been education, it was outright sabotage on all levels.
This is not just Sharmaajo, other Presidents before him did the same. They use international funding as bartering chips.
