2. Fiqi is implicating the FGS in the events in eastern Sool which many have speculated on in the past. He says Somaliland was on the brink of recognition, US congress was tabling a motion before, but then later admits that recognition is still being discussed in western capitals.
3. Claims other countries are backing Ethiopia's MoU.
4. Alleges FGS is sowing dissent in other parts of Somaliland
5. Claims Somaliland can only discuss terms for reunification with FGS and that the FGS can accomodate.

7. The MoU has become the governments top priority and other goals are regressing due to the governments focus on stopping the MoU.

Fiqi probably wants to give the impression of success and being the hand behind events, not sure if that's convincing but there's no doubt he's trying to sow dissent in any area of Somaliland he can. For the FGS Somaliland is real estate on the gulf of Aden to sell to other governments. The loss of Somaliland brings down the value of Somalia's offering significantly.

The position of Fiqi is two places at once, dismember Somaliland while offering terms for reunification. This would be an attempt to bring down the cost of any future bargain but the reality is that no bargain with Mogadishu would hold so Somaliland is pursuing the only viable path for their population.

He could have said that. Makes sense he would want to claim credit for it, he's trying to inspire these religious leaders to help him so he wants to appear effective. That's the first thing.

The second thing is that, the window for diplomacy has probably closed, Ethiopia has signalled its intent, Somaliland is not backing down from its position, no need to hide his intentions as the next phase is going to be direct actions taken against Somaliland once the MoU is signed.

It doesn’t really matter who was actually behind the laascaanood unionist revolution. What matters is that a large swathe of land is now out of the hands of the separatist movement. We will leave you to worry about how it happened or who was behind it.
