Foreign investment.

I don't think foreign investment is an absolute blessing, as propaganda tells us. It's not a gift, it's a business. They invest $1 in order to later take $10 out of the country. It's a way of robbing. Maybe I'm wrong?

This type of foreign investment is political

For example when African leaders seek to nationalize their vast resources and take it from the hands of foreign companies, like Patrice Lumumba, the country which supports these foreign companies (Belgium, France, Israel, US) wont't just stand there and let their cash cow run away

This is why Patrice Lumumba and many others were killed, they then get replaced by a puppet which signs a deal with the company in which he basically will show a blind eye to their exploitation and in exchange they will make him rich, then the people of this country dont benefit a single $ from these resources

So basically foreign investment is often a curse in African countries because it's usually resource-extractive, poorly regulated, and benefits foreign companies and elites rather than the local population

This is not a Somalia problem but we had a similar neo colonialism thing going on in the 70s where the IMF/World Bank essentially destroyed the Somali economy
