For those on finasteride, how's your blood test results looking like?

The image you posted doesn't even clearly define what depression is.

A better example of describing depression by pubmed is

"Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. The American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) classifies the depressive disorders into Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder; Major depressive disorder; Persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia); Premenstrual dysphoric disorder; and Depressive disorder due to another medical condition. The common features of all the depressive disorders are sadness, emptiness, or irritable mood, accompanied by somatic and cognitive changes that significantly affect the individual’s capacity to function. This activity reviews the evaluation and management of depression and the role of interprofessional team members in collaborating to provide well-coordinated care and enhance patient outcomes."

"the stance you’ve taken to prove the existence of depression is to refer to a subset of the population who are genetically predisposed to a condition of ‘low mood’. Firstly, i made the point that this state of ‘depression’ is a self-medicated issue as of now since there aren’t diagnostic tools in place to 100% pinpoint so called issues."

Did you read what I posted above? It explains that the low mood is due to chemical imbalances, not just environmental conditions.
Did you read what I mentioned above either, the so-called connection between brain chemicals and ‘depression’ isn’t a measurable and accurate theory - it’s mere conjecture that hasn’t been scientifically proven as of yet.

"Researchers continue to try to understand the mechanisms of depression, including brain chemicals, in hopes of finding explanations for these complexities and developing more effective treatments.

Depression is a multi-faceted condition. While researchers do not fully understand what causes it, having an awareness of brain chemistry can be useful for medical and mental health professionals, researchers, and many people with depression.

They still acknowledge that there's a link between brain chemistry and depressive disorders.

To say depression isn't real is ignoring the many factors that contribute to it. It's a complex issue.

You also acknowledged that it's real, you're just describing one factor that contributes to it and challenging that.

So your initial statement that "depression isn't real" is false.

A link that doesn’t have clear measurable data backing it doesn’t validate the existence of ‘depression’ - I can clearly state as of now that what you believe in is…

What are you talking about? There's data and trials done in all the articles I posted.

Ah yes, highly credible and notable psychologists claiming depression is a serious issue is entirely backed up by pseudoscience! It's all a conspiracy anyways! The government is behind all of this!!

What you’re resorting to now is the logical fallacy referred to as ‘an appeal to authority’ - you have no more facts and statistics to prove your proposition so now you want to ‘summon’ figures of authority to bolster your flawed argument

The irony LOL

All the sources and references are in my articles. There's studies in each of them that explains my position. You didn't even read them, in fact you went on to post your own sources that I debunked already and debunked afterwards.

The funny thing is that the sources you posted acknowledge that depression is real, even by the terrible basic definition you posted earlier.

So like I stated earlier and will state again, Depression is in fact real.

To assert the validity of your theories, the onus is on you to clearly provide the proof behind its existence, if you cannot supply infallible data your beliefs are invalid - I’ve read the article you posted as well, the sources used were entirely ramblings of so-called ‘physicians’ with absolutely no clear and quantifiable trials to back up the existence of ‘depression’.

They did trials in those articles I posted. You never read them at all...

Once again, journalism and science aren’t one and the same; if it isn’t clearly diagnosable, measurable and repeatable by multiple trials it isn’t science.
Are you trolling me right now?

You realize they did trials in those papers :krillin:

Bro, give it up. Your own sources claimed depression is real.

You're 0/12 right now.

I'm not that disciplined with taking it. I take it sporadically, like 3months straight then I'll be shit with taking it.

I know you guys talked about it, not sure if you're still on it?
I’ve been taking it since I turned 18. I bought a pill cutter to half the 1mg pills prescribed because you can still get good results with 0.5mg daily and I didn’t want to jump into the deep end and get really bad sides.

Have you taken blood tests and compared results prior and post?

As for blood panels, my free testosterone was higher and my DHT was lower as expected (all finasteride does is stop testosterone being converted into DHT)
