India's current total fertility rate (TFR) per woman is lower than Somalia.

Their high population along with the high population in China is because of early farming history.

PS. Somalia already has one of the highest TFRs in the world (see map above).

That's a massive problem for us, all economic growth basically gets nullified by our high fertility rates, so our GDP per capita actually falls.

Economics is weird, apparently there are legitimate econ theories out there that claim that the higher the population density and overall population the better the economy (including GDP per capita). Sort of like Singapore or Hong Kong.

And how you gonna sustain the increasing population? There are reasons why agriculturist societies have big populations, one of which is that they can feed themselves. Look at farmers in HoA (Oromos, Habashas) and compare their numbers with pastoralists(Somalis, Afar).

In ancient times, always the farmer groups became larger than pastoralists. But ironically, in the modern age, it seems like pastoralist groups outbreed settled groups (especially urbanized ones) because their cultures tend to be more traditionalist.

Look at Somalia itself. Mogadishu and Hargeisa seem to be doing better than the rest of the country (on average).

We can feed our own from the land too. Its not Like Somalia is a first nation
