I’m even seeing this so-called document from the "Somali Civil Aviation Authority" calling out Flydubai, but when I checked all their official social media pages where they post statements, there was nothing. Mogadishu is just one route out of more than a hundred it's not a big loss really. Mogadishu has no muscle to force anything.

FGS is disrupting the status quo (mostly they are in decline and acting rashly for money and political relevance). Somaliland will end up profitting from it.

The question is, why would Flydubai go through all that trouble, violating ICAO rules and even invalidating their own insurance, just for Somaliland? This isn’t their fight. Somaliland should have taken control of their airspace when Somalia wasn’t functioning in the 90s or early 2000s.

FlyDubai will be complying eventually, or just abandoning the flight, but to ruin their reputation and all that? I don’t think so.

hit's built on rules and regulations and the aviation regulatory bodys database says Somalia for said region. Check requirements for yourself. This is what every airline in the world have to comply with to operate.
