Five Guys is the biggest scam

That’s hella expensive. Bruv you were better off buying the ingredients separately and making it yourself and still had enough money left in your pocket.
:whew:

Orthodox Eritreans/Ethiopians don’t eat pork (unless they’re not observants).

I don’t know if it’s culturally or religiously. But at least in Ethiopia is it prohibited for consumption amongst Orthodox Christians.
For anyone asking, yes I am Christian.

The bacon thing is odd. Eritrean and Ethiopian Orthodox Christians are Oriental Orthodox Christians. There isn’t any theological differences between the different patriarchates of Oriental Orthodoxy. They just serve different jurisdictions but ultimately are the same sect of Christianity. The bacon “ban” in Tewahado Orthodoxy is odd because the other patriarchates don’t have such a thing. It’s not biblical either (Matthew 15:11). It likely comes from the fact that the Highlanders of Ethio/Eri practiced a Hebraic religion close to (or another branch of) Judaism. Bacon is not kosher. So it seems it’s more of a cultural thing.

My parents know I eat pork. My dad doesn’t care (shares the same position as me) while my mum isn’t too happy about it but it’s not that big a deal

I've heard the same reasoning before, which is why I wrote that it could be a cultural thing.

But is it common amongst Eritreans to still eat it? I know that's taboo in Ethiopia, as it's only people adherent to P'ent'ay, who eats it.

They sell mortadella and ham and cheese toasties in Asmara lol. Plus there are Catholics in Eritrea who don’t adhere to the bacon stuff

The only thing I ate at Five Guys were the fries. I took one bite and chucked it all away and drove to McDonald's to get their elite fries. Nothing compares to McDonald's fries.
