First step in shaping Somalia's foreign policy should be

Is to leave the Arab league permanently. It's a useless organization that doesn't benefit it us in any way, neither does it benefit actual Arabs who are suffering from war and foreign imperialism. We seen how some Arab countries stabbed the Palestinian cause in the back, which isn't just an Arab cause only, it's a Muslim cause since our holy site Al Aqsa is located there. Another reason to leave the Arab league and this is the most obvious reason is that we are not Arabs. We don't speak their language and don't share their culture! the only similarities we share with them is the religion, which we also share with 1.8 billion people who are culturally and ethnically diverse. Judging from their aggressive policy towards Somalia and how they tried to bribe us and involve us in their bullshit proxy war, I realized we need to distance ourselves from them. The more we politically distance ourselves from the Arab world and their mess, the better it is for us.

1- Somalia has 3 decades of damage to repair and you want them to isolate themselves even further because you hate Arabs.
2- The Arab league as an organisation has not involved itself in Somali politics it's individual member states that have.
3- The AL currently has no economic benefits for Somalia so if Somalia stays in the AL they wouldn't financially gain or lose anything. But if the AL were to change in the future Somalia would benefit from being in the AL.
4- "Judging from their aggressive policy towards Somalia" That's called diplomacy. We don't live in a rainbow world sxb. things don't always go your way.
5-"The more we politically distance ourselves from the Arab world and their mess, the better it is for us." No it's not. Somalia's biggest trading partners are the Arabs. Somalia exported goods worth $363 million to Saudi, UAE & Oman in 2018. Somalia sells 30% of its exports to the UAE and you want Somalia to distance themselves because you hate Arabs.

@Apollo please tell these weirdos bantu countries are in little need of somali resources. they have better climate for farming and more human resources for industrialization (higher population). leaving the arab league would be idiotic.
