If you can convince me that the other federal states will accept a new ‘illegal’ state or that the IC wants to break up SL or the FGS even wants a new state there, then I’ll agree it’ll happen but there’s no incentive

There is one incentive and its to shut down the secession story but outside of that you are right federal wont allow anymore half states.

Berbera to Wajaale corridor alone is Worth more than PL+SSC x3. What does half Sool and half Sanaag offer to Somalia? If we put aside all the emotions, any objective observer would come to the same conclusion. SL(Wajaale to Berbera via Hargeisa) is arguably the most important asset to the FGS outside of Banaadir and the two Shabelles. It was always the second core of Somalia.

I find it odd to compare Khatumo with Galmudug as there are significant differences between them. Unlike Khatumo, Galmudug consist of 2 gobols, because the Somali central government acknowledges that the entire Mudug region belongs to Galmudug.

Galmudug’s Galkayo comes in clutch too. This SSC wouldn’t even have control of Ceerigaabo which is the capital of Sanaag.

It’s all infeasible. No FGS incentive, no FMS incentive to support it (all have to agree), destroys the chances of SL+Somalia talks, IC would be against dividing Somaliland, RX+Dir+hawiye do not want a third Darood state.
