Sanaag MP Xildhibaan Cali Mahdi Qalato outlines the selective policies of the FGS regarding drought response witholding and sometimes excluding regions based on locales.

He said PL did its part but the funding from World Bank was withheld from those regions by the FGS i e everything went to other regions in konfur. PL had 2 water projects in Bari and Sanaag funded by the UN and not World Bank

It’s well known PL/SL get Sanaag+Sool money. The FGS has no reason to withhold it unless you’re implying Farmaajo had some specific hate towards y’all because every other state/region got international funding from the FGS, even Somaliland

Not hate just politics even Farmaajo truth be told denied to fund a road that links Bari to Sanaag withholding the promised 1.4 million, but thats besides the point the MPs words was clear FGS controls the funds of the World Bank i.e they decide which state gets the most unlike the UN where its federalized.

He definitely should’ve bargained Banadir for SSC. He would’ve had Muqdisho support and actually managed to do something for his loyal supporters.

Puntland's first response was to build new water supplies using UN money, the MP specifically asked the federal water & resource ministry for help which the ministry denied. The water crisis will most likely be solved by the community as its always been the case.

There should be a solution to this, I can still feel that theres still more that can be done for all the people irregardless of regions.



Alx Sanaag is blessed with aquafiers so its more management issue than an environmental soon enough not only will we have enough water we'll start exporting too.
