Why would an island that doesn't speak Somali, be part of a region that is part of the Somali mainland? Let them be there only special provinces like Hawaii.
And even if Puntland wanted the island its couldn't do it without a strong central government that can back Puntland against regional and international condemnation.

Firstly the Bajuni Islands are literally just of the shores of Somalia with a population probably less than 10k no more than 2-5 km. So irrelevant that this is the first time this year i have heard about them again. However, Socotra is a different beast altogether. It is an important island with a manageable population of non-Somalis. Its allows for the holder to project power into the Horn of Africa or Southern Arabia.
Puntland is Puntland not an island with different needs altogether.
I would like to see them as a special province
