I’m starting to warm up to the idea of federalism nowadays as before I thought why the f*ck would a country as ethnically homogeneous as Somalia implement such a mode of government to run a country. I have also realised federalism was created by langaab qabils who always came last in the race between different clans so they got salty and wanted to run their own thing as they knew they’d always be second class citizen and victims in a unified Somalia lol.

Read about Somali history. Federalism was created to salvage Somalia out of the civil war. Hutu’s destroyed Somalia. Isaaq created their own functioning state, same with reer Puntland. Those two groups have historically been the most influential clans in Somalia, whether it’s in politics, business etc.

The only people who loose under federalism are those that don’t have a history of creating and building institutions on their own.

No other somali sub clan has done that. 95% of mayors of the capital city of Somalia have been abgaal/mudulood. How are those other clans you mentioned more politically influential. In terms of clans with the most business men, it is most definitely isaaq and waceysle(sub clan of abgaal). They own the most successful business in Somalia, Dubai, Kenya, turkey etc

No I’m not Isaaq, but other than begging the world for recognition, I have a lot of respect for them for building their own state and taking care of their own people. Look at gedo or Galgadud in comparison, what has farmajo done for his regions even before he was president.

But thanks to the 2 abgaal President Shariif and HSM Somalia is a Federalized Nation, where Mogadishu no longer has the power, influence nor the relevance it had under centralism.

Beesha Abgaal basically shot at their own foot by accepting Federalism, they will no longer be of any Relevance as now the Playing-field today under federalism is leveled equally for all.

I have no problem for reer banadir or states like KG, Galnus or Hirshabele paying taxes directly since they receive some funding from FGS. Why should a citizen in PL pay taxes to FGS when it doesn’t offer any services whether it’s security, health, infrastructure etc? How does that make one a supremacist? Majority of IC funding or Turkish construction projects never leaves xamar. Look it up.
