They are much smarter then Somalis, that's my opinion, they foresaw Somali needs to be a federation way before anyone else did as we all followed in copying colonial style govts.

What a terrible Mistake, what terrible foresight, why are they not playing a much bigger role, they have evidence they are far more visionary then any other clan.

Abdillahi just took SW people idea and tweaked it to clan Federalism, where as before it was language based Federalism.

Heck even irir samaale federation is colonial based federalism. The rest in the nation are either secessionist or centralist(copy siyad barre govt).

Maybe right there but I don't know if it's so much about allegiance, ppl cut deals, they move on, mistakes happen. Noone sits in a stalemate, cause noone winning then.

Even nomads don't do this and carry out their rural task and enjoy peace and can even migrate anywhere rurally. There something wrong in Somali urban settings.

And to think SW people were named traitors and "dhabodhilif" when they were suggesting federalism as well as an extension of colonialism. When in reality they had foresight and could predict the future of Somalia post independence.

Those set of Digil and Mirifle elites knew Somalis were too tribalistic and divided to share a non federal United country. They new whichever tribe gained leadership would just end up pushing their clan interests and vice versa.

I think Somalia would probably be a lot better today if those Digil and mirifle elites had their vision implemented rather then being called traitor's.

That's a fair point. Rx do hold a middle ground as the two biggest powers in Somalia are Hawiye and Daarood. Due to them coming third place in terms of power and influence makes them usually be more daacad in terms on wanting prosperity for Somalia, due to them knowing it's unlikely for them to become president

His no saint either well noone is post 91 but they do seem to have an opportunity to be seen as a neutral clan which unfortunately post 91 they didn't seem to follow into that strategy for whatever reason they only know as they do play clan politics and tend to side with Hawiye in mostly everything even tho its never in their own interest which baffles people. I don't know if it's a short term alliance to deal with a shared enemy type of thing or long term.

Plus Sharif Saakin destroyed the parliament and created the parliamentary culture you see today.

RW aren’t farmers only, they practise agropastoralism and that’s not unique to them. Many clans in northwest somaliweyn have a history of farming and keeping animals. Our federal politics is more to do with our linguistic difference and probably a dislike of “foreigners”. That culture can be developed by any group as we’ve now seen with both MJ and Isaaq having a strong autonomous political bend.

That's what I read. And also they demanded that the Trust Territory continues for another 10 years, independence being granted in 1970 instead of 1960. At that time a lot of people called them traitors but in hindsight it was the proper call. Somalia and Somaliland would turned out drastically different if that happened.
