I don't think it's that deep. It's just easier to reference. I use to think it was weird Allah swt was referred to as "He" in some instances but it doesn't necessarily mean there is a gender assigned.

Its just used to represent the nation. The Russians used Motherland as the symbol of a country that nourished and supported its citizens during times of crisis
