Exactly, taking a snippet of an interview out of context to try and misinform people is duplicitous. Ethiopia is a landlocked country with a consumer base of 100 million+. As they've asked other nations to import and export products for them us being so close in proximity and the comparative advantage to our competitors can take full advantage of that market and leverage them into financing improvements through business. In the full interview, the President talks about expanding our ports since the 3,300 km coastline is capable of having multiple ports that ships come and go from making us a major economic hub in the region.

not an advantage, why export and import for them bettering there business and giving them more market at the expsene of your own? id rather let them starve, use ports to export and import for us, and send them our finished products if they want it, not other countries products, you want to give your local business the competitive advantage and give them no advantage

Believe it or not we are strategicly located we can make shit ton of money and power if we let ethopians use our ports, they are 100 million, many companies want access to them and its thro us only, and they already use our ports to send off stuff
Your zero sum way of looking at things is not helpful. They have exports Somalia cant match e.g. coffee. Their much larger population and fertile land also means their economy will be much bigger than Somalia's for the foreseeable future.
Also, we don't want them to starve. We want uplift for all of Africa. What the hell is wrong with you.

no, I cannot and will not except that their economy will be bigger than ours in the near future we need to sabotage this any way we can, it is a zero sums game just like Kenya did with the other bantu countries like Uganda and Tanzania who are reliant on it, once a group dominates a region its over we need Ethiopia reliant on us not just in ports but in all business, intact they should have no use for ports as we should be there only import, we should have a no using our ports policy until our industries kick off, then use our port advantage to trade with the rest of the world and keeping theres landlocked and local, eventually ours will outpace theres due to the port economy and there large populace will be relegated to using our products
@Abdalla could you clarify this for me? Did Farmaajo gave away our ports to Ethiopia for free or is Ethiopia paying the port like all other countries? If there paying it then it's no problem but if they own it for free than that's a stupid decision Farmaajo made.

no these companies want access to them but we shouldn't give them that access, build up our own industries, become the horn hub ourselves due to the port, let them decline due to being landlocked and eventually once our business and industries pick up have our companies have access to there 100 million population not foreign companies, were the ones supposed to be making a killing of them, letting them import would make us some money but having them use our products would make us more, on the other hand there should be no reason to ever have them export ever

Ethiopia can not pay a price for it as its priceless especially for a landlocked country like Ethiopia, theres really no price they can pay that would be worth it for us
Id double check anything samira tweets, last time I saw her account she was using the beledweyne flood victims to further her non-stop qabyalad fueled agenda, which was sad to see. Seeing stuff like that from her makes me question anything of a sensitive nature she talks about tbh

yeah I don't know where there getting the navy idea from, as soon as we beat Kenya from the ICJ we need to make it clear Ethiopian ships are banned from our water ways completely, and lay there navy dreams to rest as well go international if they try any funny business
