Western notions of masculinity in which a man’s manliness is tested though his rage and violence. Whilst women are deemed as being more merciful and kind.

That makes sense. Men are capable of having that duality. It doesn’t diminish manliness to be gentle and kind in times when that’s needed most. That same man can be the most courageous of men when it comes to protecting what’s his and matters of justice.
