Where are all the men in those camps, why is it only mothers and children? Somalia needs a cultural revolution, mothers are the foundation of nations. I hope one day the international community pressures the current politicians into giving women 50% of the seats.

We need a desalination plants, rivers are increasingly becoming unreliable with all damming from Ethiopia and inconsistent rains. Hope the politicians would funnel the funds to the areas that matter, innaLillah..2022 and there still Somalis that are dying of thirst.

This is heartbreaking. Sadly, it's a recurring theme.
in the year 2000 when Abdiqasim Salad was elected president of Somalia at the Arta conference, he said one sentence that remains true for eternity.

or rather more suiting, for the average Somali, There is neither help nor hope!.

This strikes a personal cord too. I was once like that child, malnourished, on the verge of death. to seal my fate I was inflicted with parasitic diarrheal illness. the cure a simple tablet "Flagyl". my mother, who recently lost my other sibling already, has also read her prayers for me. with sheer luck, a relative sent a pack of the medication to where our camp was from a neighbouring country. handed over by hand from person to the next it just made to us in time. with the tablets and plenty of wheat and porridge provided by aid organisation and Eebe's blessing I recovered and survived.!
This year, its much worse than 3 decades ago when I have been through that ordeal. who would have thought?.
the global supply of wheat and basic food has been slashed by half due to the ongoing war in Ukraine (Russia and Ukraine are some of the largest wheat producers in the world). Aid organisations are rather cautious to send qualified medical personnel and aid to the neediest parts of the country due to security concerns (MSF withdraws from Somalia).
Climate change is prophesied to inflict hotter climates and less rainfall on East Africa in the next 2 decades. Things will not be better!.

but let us be busy arguing over dani vs qoorqoor vs farmaajo vs another tuug!.

1.Abolish somalis from being nomadic and force-settle them into new or existing villages far away from their tribes land
2.Sharply increase food production and build desalination plants/ground water extraction sites
This will lessen the amount of starving people in the country, Nomads rely on perfect conditions year round and thats becoming increasingly unlikely because of climate change
Death to pastoralism, agriculturalism is the way forward

I hate forced sterilisation, but sometimes it's necessary to stop inhumane stuff like this from happening. And as our population grows more suffering will come. We need policies like China. Most can't afford birth control.

There are no nomads in a peace-ridden region. They are trained to be used by their regional leader/clan leader.
