It’s super comfortable, I have a macawiis that my dad sent to me when I was 8 years old from Africa and I cherish it so much, never wore it but I plan to pass it down to my kids inshallah

Macawis from somalia are much higher quality than the ones here in canada. I had a macawis since 2014 that only ripped a couple weeks ago. I bought a macawis here to replace it and I could just feel from the material it was so thin and weak. The threads were coming off loose after just a month ffs.

Worst part is the Macawis from somalia was about the same price too $20 (USD) for the macawis from somalia and like $20 (CAD) for the new one.

I know what you mean, I plan to visit Somalia inshallah when things return to normalcy. I am going to bring back lots of macawiis, shaati, belt, leather sandals to last me a decade.
