Fadhi ku dirir How come nobody talks about how this affects the community?

As some of you are aware Fadhi ku dirir is a favorite among Somalis everywhere from qurbaha and back home yet there's never anyone talking about it the negative effects It can have

- Bad image
-Absent father
- waste of time
- lazy

Thanks to FDK , no Somali man goes hungry because you can write your name on a book even if you're broke . I am sure R.kelly has done this numerous times .

FDK is also good for depression , anxiety and social disorders of that nature . Unlike Ajanabi odayaal , Somali elders have a social outlet whereby they can kick back and relax . They don't have to spend all day alone at home . FDK releases positive dopamine and other chemicals which are necessary for a healthy mind .

Finally , FDK is good for fashion : where also do you see hoardes of unemployed men with fresh oversized suits and impeccably combed receding asiatic hairlines ?

And it distants people from the real world. What kind of hobby is discussing politics in which way does it help anyone? They will put on a suit to go discuss clan politics with some other old men while their families and communities are burning. Somalis have been living in the west for over 20 years and in that time they could've done something for their families and people back home but they wasted years discussing what already past. In there minds this is just one stop on a nomad's journey so they feel they don't need to prepare anything

You have to make a distinction between men who spend too much time doing FDK , i.e. the unemployed, and men who want use it as a form of socialisation .

My uncle works in a tough manual labour job , takes his kids to sports clubs , school and Dugsi. On the odd days he has time off , the fellow likes to play cards with Somali fellows of a similar age . I see no problem in that .
