Why do some Somalis call others Somalis "Z..mali" because that word is used against us today by our enemies. Do you not understand what that word has for impact on us and all of you who use that word i hope personally you burn in hell or at least get your tongue and fingers cut off for it. I dont care if you call it to a person out of anger because you didnt agree with each other or for fun but just stop using that word . I dont wanna hear it again and however use that word have no respect for somali..

We can make a slur out of any ethnicity, if an Egyptian calls us that we’ll call them ewgyptian, if a German calls us than we’ll call them germ, if an indian calls us that we’ll call them indiot, if an ethiopian calls us that we’ll call them etc

Same here..i saw it on twitter written by somali and i have repeatedly tried to wipe it off but of frustration and angry can't understand why a somali even dares to say that word. It is purely degrading
It was a long time since I read Somali history but my teacher use to say that the word Somali came from Soo maal which means go and milk.. Soo mali would then mean the people who milk but I may have remembered it wrong. Could never be z because it doesn't make sence
