Because those lands were too valuable for the businessmen and the gov. That’s why also sheekhaal got turfed out of carwada qaranka since its close to taleex(prime location).

Before people think I’m defending HG, let’s be real. I’m no doqon who will bend over just because you say “it’s the gov, we should give back gov land.”
How is the gov telling people in Siinka dheer alongside the exKontrol afgoye road that they will legalize their land and give them documents for $4k for each plot of land. My uncle paid 12k for 4 plots, he showed me his receipt and the account he sent the money to. A normal gov you would expect a receipt saying “12000 deposited into the dowlad hoose at bank account with their name and government stamp”…well his receipt looked like a normal receipt that you get from the shops in bakaaro and had on the top “Baraka General Trading company”.
If the gov took back the land, reused it for public services and government use whilst helping those evicted resettle then I would have no qualms about it. Heck even if they sold it to private investors, and the money was transparently deposited into the central bank and used for development of public services and infrastructure then I would fully support the government.
Laakin you want me to accept poor families with 8+ kids being thrown out and displaced with no support whilst others gleefully line their pockets. Mooriyaan knows mooriyaan movement. Don’t come to me with tuugnimo and looting and call it dowladnimo.

Today, I had the misfortune of going to one of the shitiest places I have ever seen, a slum in Yaaqshiid. Seeing all the disgusting dhiiqo, jiingad and the excessive amount of kids sitting in every corner made me realize HSM is doing the right thing.

It’s true the jingad xaafads don’t look nice, but people are making big money from this and the least the gov can do is resettle these people to the outskirts of the city. It’s not fair having one rule for the big boys and then walking all over the masakiin. I remember, during HSM first term he took a lot of land from HG in the waaberi/airport area, my uncles in the west even bought land in that area. That case caused a lot of conflict, but them and others were reimbursed with land that is now called Galmudug.
It can’t be one rule for the affluent and one for the poor. The gov should have an even greater duty of care for those who are already struggling to survive. Xamar ain’t cheap, rent is impossible for a lot of families. Most areas are now 250-500 a month for a Villa. One HG salebaan guy that I know has 10 kids, him and many others paid 5k in 2019 to buy land in a place called warshada galeyka next to Mogadishu stadium from other HG who held the gov land(make it make sense). The bacweyne him and his family lived in was demolished after living there for 5 years after he said he doesn’t have the 12k to legally purchase it. He had a stroke two years ago and was making ends meet driving rikaab taxi to support his family. Now he is homeless with 10 kids and low income.
You see my bro, people are making millions from this whilst others are becoming destitute and are struggling to survive. They should’ve even moved these families to Waxarcade or any other area on the outskirts of the city.
Yeah, I know about all of these issues. Too many people and not enough homes; corruption and incompetence. I was against evictions previously but seeing that slum changed my mind. Resettlement within Banaadir is not possible or easy, I think. Too many people are moving in to the region. There should be a plan to discourage Reer baadiyo from moving into the city. We do not have enough economic resources to build affordable housing. I don't expect these politicians to care about anything other than their jeeb.
Any normal society would have revolted under these unbearable socioeconomic conditions but we are not normal. Qabiil identity is stronger than any misery we share.

Ps: I don't think HG have it worse in Xamar tbh. I also don't think there's a plan by hsm, FGS or AB to target them alone. It's just that you guys are louder.

Things were looking more optimistic during Farmajos time imo. Everyone now just views the current gov as an extortion racket. Sad situation when the people just accept it and expect to get no returns on their taxes or help with public services.
