The world once again sees improving signs of stability and normalcy returning to our country, inshallah kheyr
Realistically! this 100 million and 80 million is pocket change. How can it be used effectively to build infrastaructure? it's not even enough to build a proper army to defeat al shabaab when the arms embargo is lifted.
Seriously! what can 100 million build?
It's true somalis need to put aside their pride and get rich together. It builds confidence.
Without the reforms made by the SFG the World Bank and the EU would have never given these numbers. Sure, $180m is pocket change. We need at least a $100 billion to rebuild Somalia. But until the Somali government controls the rest of the country and collects taxes directly or via a tax sharing agreement with the federal member states we will never get the loans (with 0% interest) that we need.
The West has finally put a leash with a carrot hanging from it on Somalia...
Taking money from the west is like being in the pocket of the devil...
One of Siad Barres greatest achievement and the first country in Africa to do so was to declare Somalia SELF SUFFICIENT and thereby eliminating any chance of western roque nations to have a say in Somali affairs..
That money is not to develop the country but it is to dissapear in to the pockets of those that directly work for foreign suits at the cost of the Somali people.
This is not a celebration but a mourning
