TPLF/Tigray apparently going to still hold their own election even though the national election was delayed.

If they secede it would be good news for rest of territories like Ogaden.

sounds like amharas are not liking the whole tigray dominance or tigray threatening to leave if they dont dominate and would rather support a pro-Ethiopian party which caters to all ethnic groups alike and keeps the federation

Unfortunately, most of the books I know that were written by first hand witness who were directly involved in the Mengistu regime and also in TPLF era and in the drafting of ethnic federal constitution etc. are all in Amharic. I really don't think Tigray/TPLF will hold its own regional election. This would be a huge misstep and the consequences for Tigray and TPLF will be sever. It seems to me they are rather trying to encourage other regions to take the lead in rebellion agains the Abiy government, especially Oromia. In the Ethiopian constitution there is only one election board that have the power to conduct all elections including federal and regional elections. No other body has the mandate to conduct any election and the election board said it can't hold this years election on schedule due to corona-19 epidemic. In my view TPLF is bluffing and will not dare to hold the election itself in Tigray. Tigray administration will become overnight illegal and the fed will cut the budget etc. I don't think TPLF is that stupid to risk so much. In my view they will find an excuse like corona numbers etc. to not hold the election themselves. Currently PM Abiy is very popular in major cities and regions like Addis Ababa and Amhara regions.

Abiy Ahmed is the face the Tigray used to appease the Oromos, the TPLF and Amhara still dominate the country.

Ethiopia will never implode as the Oromo and Amhara are tied together because of Addis. They’re the only ethnic groups that’s can totally destroy Ethiopia. As long as somalis aren’t strong enough to fight for Somali state they will never have it back.
