Ethiopian historian claims Zelia was historically habasha.

That speculation was already debunked. Imam Ahmed's mother was definitely Harla. His father's ethnicity is disputed, but the popular consensus among scholars is that he was either Harla or Balaw.
Balaw? You're even saying he's descendants of beja, no wonder I seen Sudanese claiming him in some random tiktok comments.

Anything but the obvious 😂😂

Balaw theory is very niche tbh, I only know of one paper that discuss it. The Somali or Harla origins are the most popular theories simply because the Futuh puts the most attention of both these groups by far out of all. The imam's inner circle, including family and friends, soldiers, commanders, sheikhs, ect almost entirely consisted of Somalis and Harla. Many also believe both these groups mixed and assimilated into each others clans.

Yes there's many Somali sub clans that descend from Harla I'll compile a list of them soon when I get my hands on sources. I hear 2 Ciise sub clans descend from Harla.

Picture this; instead of Somali becoming the dominant name to survive the Futuh, we survived under the name Harla as a major nation in the Horn today, we speak af-Harlaad and still maintain an elaborate clan system. The SOMALI group that supported the Imam (and the ONLY other group to be mentioned the most by name in the Futuh other than us THE HARLA) were eventually absorbed by the Harla nation after their way of life died out.

Now imagine hoteps 500 years later rebranding this extinct Somali group as Ethio-Semites based on crackpot theories with no foundations other than ‘just because’, while ignoring the extinct Somali group’s concrete ties; historically, culturally, genetically, archaeologically and linguistically with us the Harla people.

Absurd right? Now switch around Somali and Harla to see why they are so threatened by our role in the Horn’s history.

I always viewed the Harla as urbanised Somalis, what's the oldest document mentioning them?

They didn't even ride horse they learned it from the Somalis and habesha, they cross breeded both Somali and habesha horses
Oromos learned Calvary when they assimilated a group of people close to Somali. I can't get my tounge on it but I remember reading about a paper on it once.

Oromo were busy assimilating the small Cushitic tribes that lay in between the large Somali in the east and the Habash in the west in souther ethiopia before they made the big push.

I read somewhere, they learned horse riding from Somalis and habesha, they also cross bredd two different horses, oromo were smart for assimilation the small Cushitic groups

I must admit. Haile Selassie renaming his country from "Abyssinia" to "Ethiopia" was nothing but a stroke of genius. Thanks to that, foreigners and even Ethiopians alike now believe that every single Islamic polity, culture, historical figure, ethnic group in the lowland areas were always populated and owned by Ethiopians. Its why they claim coffee is an Ethiopian invention even though Haraghe, the area where coffee originated from, wasn't apart of Ethiopia until the 19th century. Not even Turks could get away with claiming ancient western Anatolia was Turkish that since everyone is way more familiar with Greek history whereas Somali history is way less known. And that's not even getting into the Oromos claiming that they always lived areas like Bosaso, Hargeisa, and even friggin Mogadishu. Historical revisionism is a dangerous thing.

This is why I push for somalis to write up large books. These claims we somali just laugh off by ajnabis won't know any better.

They are Somalis , Hararis like to claim them to say they are native to Harar lol
When and how did Hararis first came to be anyways? I recall somewhere that they are descendant of various Ethio-Semitic and Cushitic groups in Hararghe meaning they might partially be descendant of Harla too. Their language also has a Sidama substratum apparently.
