Ethiopia to dismantle regional special forces in favour of 'centralized army'

Again, you need to follow Ethiopian politics more as you seem clueless considering your conclusions. I don’t doubt that SL complained, but this decision did NOT come as result of it. It’s been part of Abiy’s vision ever since he took power. And it’s been talked about for quite a long time. So, thinking that SL even contributed to this, is just gullible as they have zero influence beyond its ‘border’. Heck even part of the the territories SL claims, kkk:hemad:
Conveniently omitted to respond to whether this was Win for SL. I can assure it is, and another L for Jaberti.

Jecliya Jabki Jebertii.

Bold of you to assume that it’s Jabertis who will take this L. The one place these forces have been the most effective is Sitti where there are non-Jabertis. I can assure that they will feel the most brunt from this measure.

Look at social media and see how your fellow ‘kins’ are reacting to this news

I infact did not know that but that wasn't the original point. Don't change the goalpost
The original point was that Liyu was created because Ethiopia was on the verge of defeat. You clearly don’t know what you are talking about if you didn’t even know Liyu was trained by the Brits. You’re just another laangaab ciilan so no point going backwards and forth with you

i don't think people will cry about the abolishment mercenary system made to keep somalis in check. it wasn't like they did much for the border comunities. although security might deteriorate like many other sector under PP regime.

You're right, few will be affected by this move. Though it depends on what happens next. If the same forces remain there but in a new uniform, not much will change in the short run except active conflict areas. But if they decide to replace it with some shisheeye forces and deploy it our region, this will only deteriorate further more. A whole new dynamic will ensure, and I don't know what to predict next. :francis:

The next step will be to destroy ethnic federalism. R.I.P to Somalis in Ogaden, the Ethiopian government’s goal will be to implant Amharas and Oromos all the way to the Somali border so that region is mixed and can never seperate.

Jigjiga must be defended from the Oromo Horde. Irir Samaale is their trojan horse.

I am still having a hard time figuring out how this is bad for the jabartis. Or even ogaden
I’d say liyu are standing on the way of the expansionist dream to take all the border districts. From moyale of dawa to ma’eso of sitti
I think it’d be 18 waredas( dagmoyin) wich and darod awns like 4 if tgem (tuli. Deka, qubbi and lagahid,)
so let’s see who the biggest loss after liyu is dismantled.

Its good for us we can finally bring our heavy weapons and defend Ceel Habreed tuulos in and and around the Matabaan border. MX will finally be able to uproot any remaining mooryan without Liyuu Boolis intervention

I think it has to do with the gov't monopolizing all security apparatus in the long run, then the actual forces being removed per se.

Now that we have state forces, it was/is easy to hide militias behind them and use them during conflict areas since every region are already armed and hard to distinguish. If they are removed, certain border communities will be f*cked as they won't be able to defend themselves. This applies to armed local people too, who have to fend for themselves if they get targeted. The gov't have tried disarm them before, but failed. This will be the next step, watch out!

Since Afar and Oromos has closer ties with the military establishment, they will most likely be superior to us if we get attacked by neighboring regions. :farmajoyaab:

You’d frist welcome bunch of mc refugees frim deka softu in gedo
And in cabudwaq or the sade in the border ereas will finally get their wish wich is a fight with ogaden with out liyu standing between them wayna kala calaf qaadayan.
I’d say you don’t have much to loose either if litu is dismantled.
