SL receives the most aid in Somalia. Even more money then the FGS(Im talking about darect cash). If u don’t believe me do a simple google search.
Issaqs + their side kick couldn’t come up with 200m for a port. Meanwhile sub-clans in the south are building their own ports/airports. When the FGS collects more taxes in a war torn xamar than the entire SL budget including aids Then that should tell u something.

Now the south is still lawless thanks to AS but I still rather live in xamar and have 24/7 running water/electricity/sewage systems then shit in a pit latrine and shower no more then twice a week due to water scarcity in Hargeisa/SL. Y’all had so much potential wallaih idk what went wrong tbh. After 20 years of peace The only thing SL offers is a safe semi military state

Somaliland is 1/3 of the Somali Republic population but receives a 10th in development projects by the EU. That doesn’t take into account the money from the Americans the Turks the Saudis the Qataris that is direct budgetary support for the FGS. Nor does it take into account the SNA salary is paid by foreigners while Somaliland army is paid for by the SL gov. Couple that with Somaliland isn’t apart of any international organisations so doesn’t get disaster relief like Somalia does and is isolated from making bilateral deals.

All of this makes Somaliland more resilliant and less at the mercy of foreign governments which has used there leverage in Somalia to control it.

UAE and Ethiopia are the ones paying are they not? Somaliland Government owns the Berbera Port and the land on it.

UAE and Ethiopia hold stakes to a 30 year lease on Berbera Port... Learn the difference..

After those 30 years, the port is worth billions, it's a long term investment for Somaliland.

Considering the political and legal difficulties SL faces, it's a good deal. It's not like they would get a better deal.

SL is not an internationally recognised country meaning the deals SL can make with other internationally recognised countries are very limited.

You don't seem to understand politics well just because we had peace for 20 years doesn't mean we had much else going on.

SL is locked out of all international financial institutes such as IMF etc..
