Relatable, I was in Botswana for a brief visit and was stranded at the border crossing , it took me few weeks to return to SA , before then the western media circulated that the new strains originated from SA , I beg to differ , It was British, German and French nationals that were frequently flying from their countries to Cape Town also other parts of SA and swim in the beaches and hike the mountains, like nothing had happened , meanwhile not faraway where these whites were kayaking, eating baggueats and drinking red wine.
In the hospitals it was a totally a different environment especially in the ICU sector , numerous people were admitted, the ventilators were scarce , half of the staff died from contracting the virus , yet there were larger presence of European tourists they were breaking lockdown rules , not even wearing masks , so in a sense it's undeniable that they are the source of contagious infections , I hate to exaggerate and pinpoint , but all South Africans agree their government should be held accountable for opening the borders , yes the economy was in a dilapidated state, bussiness shutdown and people becoming bankrupt in these stressful times , but many asked why the ministry of tourism thought of maintaining tourism due to large sum of passive income instead of the welfare of its citizens .
And today they are the world center of attention replacing China.
Yes , Covid took a toll on many people , I meant the previous strain that had allegedly originated from Wuhan! It had devasted the entire world at one point.
We were slowly recovering after 700,000 cases with 20,000 deaths last year
2021 and the flow of tourists
Now it's 1.4 million cases with 46,000 deaths.
We are currently at level 3 lockdown in some states 4 and 5 .
The vaccines introduced were briefly halted it could be ineffective .
The situation is far more worse than the previous year.
I have returned to Cape Town things are quite drastic and eased down , was in lockdown for weeks in Johannesburg during my drive from Botswana.
I have re-opened my store.
This news is saddening to watch this video though , how long will this virus last , it's keeps resurfacing . Will the world shutdown for the following years to come. It's not good at all,

I always have protective gloves, luckily I have my motorcycle gloves,
I never ran out of have alcohol sanitizers , and hand gels , I clean almost everything even wiping essential stuffs like food or materials , I also change my clothes before entering the house.
I have clothes to go outside, clothes at work and clothes to stay at home.
Damn yes you can say I have almost become a germaphobe but I was never like this before the pandemic.
