It's a far cry from the days when the Germans were on a victory tour across France & enjoying their vacation in that country lol....
Even in the eastern front in 1943, they had vacations and although they lost Stalingrad, it wasn't yet over.

The fall of Germany must have been the demoralising event for Germans till this day. I can't imagine watching this if this happened to Somalia

ngl the French deserved that shit. They were the most annoying nation, hated by practically everyone and even their allies the Brits and the US were fed up with them. They needed to be humbled and since then their reputation has went down the drain, forever known as surrender monkeys.

it's funny, the Treaty of Versailles that pissed the Germans off so much that led to the rise of the Nazis was actually much kinder than the treaties of Sèvres and Trianon:

Hungary went from one of the most prominent European nations to a landlocked poor irrelevant nation in Central Europe. They absolutely destroyed them.

I think a similar secret treaty has been made to divide Somalia up worse than this.

Trust me bro, there were no vacations on the eastern front. Especially in Russia, Ukraine etc.

It was the most bloody front in Europe, since the Germans literally regarded Russians(who are also White) as sub-humans and they frequently sent death squads to East Europe to annihilate the Jews by rounding them up in villages, forests e.g to be shot in the head & their bodies thrown in pits. Anyone that looked Semitic/Middle-eastern was screwed when those death squads arrived.

Western Europe had it easy when they came under German rule, since the Germans regards them as fellow pure Aryans & generally viewed Slavs as having mixed with Asiatics (which is largely untrue), plus most of Europe's Jews lived in the East.

They tried to do the same shit to Ottoman/Turkey with the Treaty of Sevres but fortunately for Turkey the French and Italian weren't too passionate to enforce the treaty and made deals with the Turks, the Soviets helped them out with cash and they made deals to sort out the borders on that end. It was only the British and the Greeks who desperately wanted to enforce the treaty and the Greeks are terrible fighters while literally everyone other than the British Prime Minister and Churchill were against war with Turkey. Canada refusing to participate was a major sign of the weakening of the British Empire.

With Trianon, Hungary were unable to fight it because the French were extremely passionate with wanting to carve up and weaken Hungary due to their relationship with the Germans. If Hungary tried to rise up and fight, the French would have given the countries surrounding Hungary the all clear to carve up what remains of Hungary.

The French had a strong hatred for the Germans ever since the defeat in 1870 Franco-Prussian war which led to the unification of the German Empire and the annexation of Alsace-Lorraine.

it was the eastern front that dealt a severe blow to the Germans, first Moscow in 41,then stalingrad and kursk in 43. after kursk it was all ova for the Germans, it was the biggest tank battle in history called operation Citadel and had the Germans succeeded was straight shot to Moscow,it was do or die for both.
the russians neva looked back after the kursk victory and continued to ukraine, in 1944 they did operation Bagration in the central front that took thm straight to kaliningrad in east Gemany.
without the eastern front there would have neva been D Day invasion and the war probably would have been decided by the atomic bomb just like japan.

The troops were overextended and the land too far vast. When Invading Russia, you have to start with Siberia

yes thats what killed the nazis, they also underestimated the russians as a peasant inferior slavs.Hitler said'' all what we have to do is kick the front door and the whole rotten system will keep crumbling down''. their plan was take ova the soviets in just under 4 months, get the oil in the caucuses, the wheat in ukraine ,steel and other minerals for the war industry and go back to the Battle of Britain where they left off in 1940 when the royal airforce destroyed the luftwaffe and try 2nd time to invade Britain. Then mission europe is complete or so they thought.
What a blunder.

watch this, the battle of kursk, the last nail in the coffin for Germans.
the greatest battles are Moscow 1941, stalingrad 1942-3, kursk 1943 and operation Bagration 1944, and ofc Berlin 1945.
