Egyptian Thinks She's Not Arab.

Imagine a English person claiming he or she is a Celt or some other pre-Germanic/Anglo-Saxon British identity, it would be ridiculous because the ancestral component that has defined their current identity [culture, language e.g] came from their Anglo-Saxon ancestral component.

Same goes for the Egyptians who carry some Arabian ancestry from their early Medieval Arabian Liberators which has defined their current identity as an Arab one.

Despite that Egyptians do have much less Arabian ancestry than English people who carry high amounts of Anglo-Saxon dna [ranging from 40-60%]; the point still stands that Egyptians will always be viewed as an Arab people because of the deep Natufian ancestry that Egyptians & Arabians share. The guy in the video did touch on that shared Natufian ancestry, but he used the wrong term [Semitic].
Average Egyptian doesn't have Arab dna. Most of North Africa simply assimilated into Arab culture and language although they kept many things from their pre Islamic cultures and the post caliphate centuries have also played a part in giving the Arab states more that differentiate them. However they still are "Arab" which has become a sort of extra-ethnic group like the Han Chinese. A group of cultures that were assimilated and unified by one tribe and language.

Egyptians are arab in the modern sense but ethnically they are still Egyptian ofc. Many might claim they have nothing to do with arabs but that is also wrong since Islamic Egypt and North Africa in general have all been unified under a shared arab/Islamic civilization in the middle east. The end point of thousands of years of Semetic history in the region.

Less than 30% of Algerians can speak a Berber language and all Berber-speaking Moroccans are Bilingual with the Arabic language. The Arab identity can never be removed from Northern Africa.
You are one of those Arab supremacists, I know that time you are on. Berber/Amazighs aren’t going anywhere. Morocco just started teaching the language in schools this year. I’m here for the cultural revival.
:superman:
The vast majority of Algerians only regard Arabic as their native language, since most of them Identify as Ethnic Arabs. There will be no increase in Berber speakers from Arab Algerians suddenly wanting to learn a useless berber language.
No they do not. Algerians and Moroccans are well aware that they are not ethnic Arabs, most have grandparents that still speak Berber languages
:russ:
You think they are garacs? They know their history and they know what they are and how they came to speak Arab RECENTLY
:comeon:

Why would it be ridiculous?
:childplease:
Acknowleding your real ancestry and history doesn’t mean you have to give up being Arab, some do and they have a right. It’s not like they are real Arabs anyway. Real Arabs remind them that they aren’t actually Arab anytime they mess up.
:comeon:
Berbers are more religious than Arabs in North Africa, so I support them.
:kanyeshrug:
True. They know they hold power over u cuz to them ur a phony. They like people to claim to claim Arab because they become custodian of ur identity. I’ve noticed this imperalistic psychology in different areas even with Somalis and somali bantus. That’s why Somalis should never accept being called Arab imo

I know Egyptians carry minor or no Arabian ancestry, but they will always be associated with the Arab identity, due to the Natufian ancestry they share with Arabians which makes both populations look like each other and speaking the Arabic language.

Notice how every Somali who claims Arab becomes mentally subserviant to them. Whether culturally or any other way. You become like the sudanis who are Arab one day and afro/african the moment you do something they dislike.

The intentions isn’t to forcefully turn Arab speakers as Berber speakers. Only giving the native speakers opportunity to learn their own language.

Also, you got a lot of nerve calling other people’s languages ‘useless’. My native language comes before any other language. Take your crap elsewhere :umad:

Sudan should be brought back into the Cushitic fold. Make a beja language the official one. A future somalia should restore the homeland of the Cushitic people.

Wasn't the native berber languages banned until recently?

Lol, keep on dreaming. The Maghreb will always be the land of the Arabs!

Not all Moroccans speak Arabic. In fact, outside of the urban areas it’s not used that much. And in many places, people don’t even have any knowledge of Arabic. Today more than 5 million Moroccans don’t speak Arabic, not even the local Darja Arabic dialect.

We are discussing this because our situation is similar to Egypt, we have insecure coons like you who deny every connection we have with the Middle East & Arabia and they have some self-hating Arabphopes who consumed Western race concepts.
And we have realityphobes like you who consume arab superiority crap and think they are arabs.

This should be the motto we use against Ana Arabs:
Don’t be a garac, be a GEELJIRE. Embrace your SOMALINIMO and leave the dhabo dhaqonimo.

That's bullshit, 98% of Berber-speaking Moroccans also speak Arabic. You cannot live a normal life in Morocco without knowing Arabic.

If you read my post properly, I said that those non-Arabic speakers are concentrated *outside* of urban areas for the most part.

When you live amongst your own people and use your native language, why would you need another language? Especially in rural areas. Use common sense :comeon:

Here’s a map where you can see the regions Berber speakers live

Doesn't matter. All Moroccan berbers learn Arabic from a young age and can converse with Moroccan Arabs in Arabic when they travel to the major cities.

Only the eastern desert of Sudan and Lower Nubia was truly Cushitic but even these regions are not in our hands anymore. Easter Sudanic tribes in antiquity followed by Semitic tribes from Arabia during the Mamluk period took over the region.

Why don't they just create a version of Arabic that is a synthesis of all languages in Morocco? Similar to how Indonesia created a new language that consisted of most languages of the country

It doesn't necessarily have to be one or the other. We can perfectly be proud of our Somalinimo and Geeljire identity and still be Arab. For example, look at Egypt, they very proudly identify as Egyptians(Misri) & appreciate their pre-Islamic history, yet were pioneers for Arab unity and spearheaded its rise.
