There is not really any major prolonged conflict in the Northern and Eastern parts of the country, which has been stable for decades.
Piracy has been pretty much almost none existent after 2017 except for a few rare occurrences, it shows you how Somali regional maritime forces have effectively dealt with it. 'Now it's mostly Yemenis, Iranians that are pirates in open in the red sea and indian oceans . Search up Iranian piracy networks
There is more piracy in so many other places than Somalia, its so happens that when Somalis engaged in it during the short flare up between 2012-2015, it began as defensive in nature and turned lucrative.
Famines are most problematic in the south of the country, due to obvious reasons.
Clan federalism that creates corruption is something devised from outside of Somalia. It's not a governmental structure cooked up by Somalis independently. Most Somalis in Somalia are against it many have seen in the study by Somali organizations and before the invasion by US backed ethiopians to the south, a democratic system of Islamic governance promoting equality and justice was sweeping through the country in the form Islamic Courts Union.
And you can also just see that corruption is not a tendency of Somalis by looking at the private sector which has assumed the position of rebuilding the country and delivering services. And corruption per reports is not wide spread in the private sector
It is very significant to point this out because 95% of all jobs are in the private sector and if corruption/nepotrism is not widespread there it tells you that it's not a Somali tendency.
It is funny because it reminds me of what Abdi Samatar said. Someone asked him ''Why are Somalis so succesfful in businesss but so poor and impoverished in politics''. We are not really bad at politics if you think about how it's externally imposed and we have folks who betray their people.
And how are you mentioning FGM when Egypt has a higher rate than Somalis are literally the originators of that female circumcision practice that spread to its neighbors and its high in Ethiopia, Sudan , Some Arab countries. And it's a practice enforced by Somali women, men are actually against it which studies have shown and before the civil war there was an active successful re-education campaign administrated by Somali women themselves and it was set back by the collapse. When things stabilize hopefully we will pick it up and we are going to promote womens rights and protection like we did before, we just need to be in more control and progressive.
Also to me it's more apparent that yall are using Egyptians who are virtually racist to every Black African in their TV/Media depictions to air out your own deeply held grudges and personal prejudices of Somalis. Yall spend hours collecting ''These people said bad stuff about Somalis come look'' everyday lool. Take a breather.
It's is never going to matter to us what other people believe of us and we have been through many worse situations throughout our history and emerged out of it, this is no different. We don't seek the approval of others, we need to just study and correct ourselves internally. Just like others have done.
