First female African pilot was a Somali. Also, Somalis were never a colony but a protectorate state. There is a difference. Italy did colonize you until Britain liberated you in WW2.
Anyways, her name was Asli Hassan Abade.
Let's not forget Somalia used to have the largest air force in Africa in both airline and military until the civil war in 1991 which put us behind.

You guys are really funny. Now Ethiopia is a colony but Somalia not. Thanks for the laughs. I can educate you about the occupation of Ethiopia while being the full member of the league of nation (the old UN). Not only Ethiopia but also other league of nation members like France, Poland, Denmark etc. were occupied at that time. If the 5 years occupation of Ethiopia i.e. one league of nation member occupying another is a colony then all these European countries were also a colony of Germany which is of course BS!Anyway, I know Asli Hassan Abade and that she is the first Somali female pilot. I am Ethiopian myself, ethiopian has no ethinc group actually just made up of many ethnic groups but I put my Somali first before Ethiopian. The 1977 war was devastating war because soviets did not want a proxy war or to support both, they ended sticking for the more extreme Mengistu. Siyaad told America for ammunition, weaponary and steeds of war in a mstter of 12 days took 85% of the Somali Galbeed. What siyaad lacked was effiency and strategy.
Siyaad fell into the same problem as Saadam Hussein when he was try to take over Iran because of Ahwaz the last real Arab people in Persia. Siyaad and Saddam both used foreign help but used majority of the country's budget, leading to big caualities back in Somalia.
Lets go back abit in 1950, before the invention of Somalia, but the galbeed or ogaden is battlefeild, between Ethiopia and Bandits trying to fight the christians of abyssinia. They are called Nusra, they were sufi fighters, who picked up their arms and fought. Until the dawn came and their struggles end because abyssinia killed them.
Ethiopia one of the most filthiest country but yet with a stable currency, shows when Axmaro or tigray can stop using toilet paper and use water.
Your leaders are yet the most curropt, using the country as a way to buy big houses with the country's budget.
