Am pretty sure he didn't say dogs are haram dogs are najis which means they are not clean I only understand having a guard dog not a dog inside the house treating it like sum human baby

He clearly has a disdain for dogs that sounds like he’s treating them like they’re haram. Najas kulaha. Like the dog itself is some filth you shouldn’t ever be near.

My point in turn is simply that as long as you perform your ablution after making contact with one there is no issue with dogs in Islam and our own ancestors kept them around annd even played with them.

That's his problem I personally don't like dogs and I don't see them as haram just as guard dogs and that's it you be kind with animals Allah created
