dont know but wasnt east african slave trade limited to omani arabs and omanis arnt even muslm thier khawrijites and are followers of the people known as khawarij who caused fitnah and made takfir

I think It is haram u can't goto to person and make tht person slave I think slavery is only allowed when Muslim goto to war with non Muslims enemy army if The Muslims armies defeat non Muslims armies then Muslims armies can take those army ppl as slave and sell them but taking civilians as slave is haram I think

Weren't somali under arab empire tht claim to be khalifa which means arabs have control over somalis land whether businesses economic government and also arabs could take salis as slave since somalis were under their ruled ship
