I have no problem with zanzibar folks that come to our country. If your muslim your are welcome. But can you not question it. From zanzibar to Somalia is a downgrade. Zanzibar is beautiful and has better potential then somalia right now

The issue is primarily the clickbait title; no one is actually encouraging them to come. They fled their homes in the middle of the night, traveled by boat, and landed in Xamar. With their loved ones killed and everything stolen, they settled where they landed. They hoped the UN would relocate them to other countries, but there was no UN presence in Somalia in the early 2000s, so they just settled. Interestingly, most of the community was repatriated back to Zanzibar in 2011. I feel like those who chose to stay have nothing to go back to in Zanzibar.

Itβs good to be suspicious of foreigners moving to a country recovering from war. Especially when some of those same foreigners have been caught leaving their stable countries to join a terrorist group. Tanzanians have been known to join AS so we should keep an eye on any of them coming to Somalia.
